The Warwick Drive in

One of the last operating drive in movie theaters in the entire USA is just a few minutes down the road. The Appalachian Trail

One of the Northeast’s greatest natural preserves passes through the area and is just minutes away. Hike some of the most challenging and beautiful trails in New York State. See views that go on for miles and take in wildlife you’ll find no where else. This is a bird watchers paradise!


Scheuermann Farms & Greenhouses

Walk barefoot on our spectacular great lawn. Experience the beauty of our flower garden. Enjoy our grounds, in the middle of the Black Dirt Region, that serve as the prime venue for these events: Warwick Summer Arts Festival, Annual Black Dirt Feast. They are also known for their World’s best sweet corn, spectacular superfreak gourds and pumpkins, and unique gifts and collectibles.


Mountain Creek Ski Resort & Waterpark

The Mountain Creek Ski resort offers a wide variety of slopes ranging from beginner to expert. There are specialty runs crafted just for snowboarders and ski trails that challenge the seasoned professional. Highly rated and one of the stops of the X Games Snowboard series. Ski season is generally from December to March.

During the warmer months between June and August, the Mountain Creek Waterpark offers a wide variety of water slides, wading pools, rafting and tubing rides, and a wave pool along with areas for children to play in. The park is staffed by professional lifeguards and offers non-water related activity such as mountain biking and zip lines.

Shawangunk Wine Trail Warwick NY Leg

The Town of Warwick is home to several of the area’s finest wineries. Experience fresh hand crafted wines aged to perfection that offer the taste and quality of much more expensive national brands. There are a number of award winning vintages and varieties to try.

  • Applewood Winery – Applewood Winery features wines from their own vineyards as well as others from across New York State. A perfect place for those who like to indulge in local culture while on vacation. Located on 82 Four Corners Road Warwick, NY, which is just minutes from the Sleepy Valley Inn.
  • Clearview Vineyard – Founded by Frank & Karen Graessle, Clearview Vineyard offers their own wines, as well as local ciders, wine tastings and live music. Located at 35 Clearview Lane, Warwick, New York, which is just minutes from the Sleepy Valley Inn.
  • Demarest Hill Winery – Wine maker Francesco Ciummo took his experience and knowledge of wine making to Warwick, New York, where he set up his Demarest Hill Winery. Located on 81 Pine Island Turnpike Warwick, New York, which is just minutes from the Sleepy Valley Inn.
  • Warwick Valley Winery – Warwick Valley Winery has become known for Doc’s hard cider which can be found in many states throughout the country. The winery is located on 114 Little York Road, Warwick, New York, which is just minutes from the Sleepy Valley Inn.

Golf Courses – The Town of Warwick is home to several wonderful golf courses and just down the road in Vernon, NJ there are several world class golf resorts to challenge even the best golfers. There are many horse boarding farms throughout the area and wonderful wooded trails to trek on horseback. In fact, Orange County has a long history of breeding and racing thoroughbred horses. The Trotter Hall of Fame is just a few minutes away in the nearby Village of Goshen, NY.


Sugar Loaf Craft Village

Sugar Loaf, NY is an absolute gem of shopping experience. The village offers artisan stores that sell a wide variety of craft and art items at bargain prices.


Balloon Rides – Warwick NY

See Orange County from up high. This is a once in a lifetime experience and a must experience for any tourist travelling through the area. The view is simply breath taking.


The Military Academy at West Point

America’s future leaders have passed through West Point from our Revolutionary forefathers who defended the Hudson Valley to our latest Generals– the Point is home to the bravest warriors and has graduated some of the most brilliant military leaders’ in the world. It is also home to both Army Football and Hockey teams– two must see sporting events.

Pennings Farm & Orchards

The Warwick Valley is home to some of the top fruit orchards in the nation. Our apples are world class offering sweet full flavors and many varieties. Pennings is both a perennial local favorite and tourist destination of choice among these orchards.


Village of Greenwood Lake

The pristine waters of Greenwood Lake await you. There are public beaches, dining on the water front, and seasonal entertainment. Celebrities throughout the ages have made this their summer home of choice.


The Trotter Hall of Fame

Orange County has throughout the years been home to some of the world’s best horse breeders. Our thoroughbred history is filled with champions. The Trotter Hall of Fame is where these champions are heralded for eternity. A must see for any equestrian fan.


The Historical Society of Warwick, NY

Founded in 1906, the local Historical Society operate several museums that encompass original historic structures dating back as far as the late 1700s and early 1800s. These include several houses, a colonial tavern, and a late 1800s Baptist Church. Touch a piece of history and experience life as our forefathers saw it just minutes from the Inn!


Mount Peter Ski Area – Warwick NY

There are several major ski resorts within minutes of our Inn, but arguably Mt. Peter is the hidden gem among them. Family run for decades, Mt. Peter offers trails for all challenge levels and family friendly environment with valley views that are second to none.


Disc Golf

The Warwick Town Park is home to Brakewell Steel, a nationally ranked and often considered best in the Eastern United States, disc golf course. There is no cost to enter nor is there to play as this is a publicly owned facility. The course is a well manicured world-class course featuring rolling terrain, beautiful views and great variety of challenging courses. There are some tight woods and some long open holes with excellent use of ridges and small cliffs. Dual tees – pro tees marked with steel animals. Dual baskets allow play on any of 4 layouts, ranging from 4800 ft to 8805 ft. Ranked 4.5 out of 5 on DG Course Review.
